My Spring Art Show
Dj MixerFor 1 of my 3 pieces for the spring art show, I am going to be making a Dj mixer. Normally Dj's use these with the types of turntables that I will also be making

TurntablesFor the spring art show, 2 of my pieces will be turntables made out of slab techniques.

The whole IdeaThe whole idea for my theme of my pieces really, has been inspired by actual studio music electronics that I use in my own music even too

Elements of Ceramics
Freshman, 2021
At the beginning of the semester, I didn’t know what to expect from this class. I was unsure about what I wanted to make and how I would make it. The thought of learning all of these different styles of ceramics sort of overwhelmed me during the first couple classes. But I feel like I started to explore what I could make with these different techniques once we began learning how to make slabs. Throwing on the wheel was difficult for me because I could never really stay consistent with my work. When we started creating with slabs though, I feel like I started having way more ideas of what I could make and how I would make it. My original idea with slabs was to make a beach and waves kind of setting but I had an idea, I had been attempting and unsuccessfully making tropical slabs and one day after I had messed up on a wave slab I decided on a new setting.. It was an idea that was just out of nowhere. I had the thought to make a completely different creation with slabs. I wanted to create a music studio with the types of equipment that I use to make my music. So I made 2 turntables and 1 mixing board out of slabs of clay. In the future, I plan to take music classes to grow my knowledge of music and how I can improve mine. I did enjoy this class and hope to one day design surfboards and skateboards as a job, so I will also hope to continue to take classes allowing me to grow as a maker.
